The Story Begins: A Steward’s Journal

The Quiet Story

There Are Three Acts In Every Quiet Story

Every project follows the Acts of the witness, The Interpreter, and The storyteller.

Act I: The Witness

First is to witness the unvarnished truth of the world. The discarded, the forgotten, and the scarred places that others create or ignore are worthy of acknowledgement. This is the initial observation, the moment of quiet revelation where you see the tension between nature's design and human indiscretion.

Act II: The Interpreter

The Interpreter translates through a practice of Tenacious Reclamation. Tenacious Reclamation is the quiet, persistent, and unyielding process by which nature reclaims what is broken, forgotten, or discarded. It is the understanding that nothing is truly lost or ruined; it is simply entering a new phase of its existence. It is the belief that beauty can not only emerge from decay, but that decay itself is a vital and beautiful part of a larger, more perfect design. As a philosophy of tenacious Reclamation observes the scar, and through the process of natural restoration, a new story is discovered — one with a Rainbow and a pot of gold. The Interpreter translates the quiet story as the Divinity of Nature and defines its form. This translation is enshrined in the Artifacts form and explains the subtle beauty and resilience that is discovered through observation.

Act III: The Storyteller

The story is a Steward's tale. The interpretation is passed through the lens of stewardship. The Artifact, which grew from the embodiment of a quiet story. The story continues through cultural mandate. Each steward from the inception of the Artifact continues the legacy of the artistic object. This legacy invites the owner to continue the narrative, to slow down and find their moments of quiet magic in their everyday lives. The art becomes a testament to the enduring power of a single, simple story.

Tenacious Reclamation is the process that is not just about creating art. It is about actively observing the impact of the grainy and loosely defined human world that overlaps with the divine processes of nature. It is a philosophical process of adding a much-needed layer of peace and profound meaning to a noisy and fast-paced world.
